Penske is seeking a Web Systems Engineer to build, operate, and maintain Kubernetes hosting environments, with a primary focus on Red Hat OpenShift and enterprise Linux infrastructure. The role supports Penske Truck Leasing IT Delivery Services’ Kubernetes and Linux-based web services environments. Responsibilities include systems engineering, infrastructure management, project planning, implementation, monitoring, documentation, performance improvement, and disaster recovery. The engineer will install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain Kubernetes platforms, middleware, operating systems, applications, and system management tools. The role also provides advanced technical support, technical direction to IT staff, and subject matter expertise across hardware and software environments. Key duties include monitoring system integrity and availability, managing backups and disaster recovery, maintaining automated monitoring and alerting, coordinating system changes and deployments, supporting authentication environments on-premises and in the cloud, and advising on application deployments, rollbacks, and system repair priorities.
