Newsweek is seeking a Digital Content Editor to provide temporary maternity coverage. The role involves creating, editing, optimizing and publishing accurate, fair and engaging digital content in a fast-paced newsroom. The editor will collaborate with reporters and editorial teams, work directly in Newsweek’s content management system, and use digital tools and technology to produce and review content. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in digital journalism and publishing at a reputable news organization. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with editors and reporters to create digital content. Editing copy, headlines, images, captions, graphics and video for accuracy, clarity and impact. Developing original stories from source material through additional reporting, expert input and contextual research. Sourcing and preparing images and video, including verification, rights clearance and credits. Using audience analytics to guide editorial decisions and improve reach, engagement and performance. Providing feedback and guidance to reporters to support high editorial standards. Working with social, SEO and multimedia teams to optimize published content.
